Okra with Spicy Mussels (FRANCE)


  • 1,1 lbs okra
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 Mexican pepper
  • 2,2 lbs frozen mussels
  • 1 tablespoon coriander or parsley
  • 1/2 lime or lemon
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt

Cut off the stems of the okra and cut in half lengthwise. Take 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the pan.
Cook half of the okra on high heat, without stirring, for 2-3 minutes, with the cut side down.
Add salt, mix and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Get it on the plate. Do the same with the other half of the okra.
Put 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the pan and start frying the chopped onions over medium heat.
After 1 minute, add the finely chopped garlic and Mexican pepper. After 1 minute, add the spices and thawed mussels.
After cooking all of them for 3-4 minutes, add the okra that you cooked before.
You can take the mixture off the fire, add finely chopped coriander and lime juice and serve.
