Mazamorra Morada (Peru)

Mazamorra morada is a well-known Peruvian dessert made with purple corn as the main ingredient, giving the dessert its distinctive color and flavor. Besides purple corn, pudding is made with various fruits such as apples, peaches, and pineapple, as well as potato flour or cornstarch as sugar and thickening agents.

The dessert is traditionally flavored with cloves and cinnamon and is usually served cold. In Peru, it can be found in street food carts as well as upscale restaurants.
