Wenchang Chicken ( China)

  • Wenchang chicken: 1 piece (about 3,3 lbs)
  • Fresh ginger: 1 piece (about 1,96 inc. long)
  • Green onion: 3-4 branches
  • Salt: 2 tablespoons
  • Water: Sufficient amount
  • Sesame oil: 2 tablespoons

Wash the chicken thoroughly and clean its feathers. Rub the inside and outside of the chicken with salt. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.

Slice the ginger and cut the green onion in half.

Fill a large pot with water and when it starts to boil, add salt, ginger slices and green onions.

Add the chicken to the pot and cook over medium heat for about 40-50 minutes. Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the pot.

Cool the chicken quickly by submerging it in cold water. This will help make the meat firmer and more tender.

Cut the chicken into pieces and place on a plate. Drizzle some sesame oil on top.

ENJOY YOUR MEAL
