Sate Udang (Indonesia)
Sate udang is a traditional Indonesian dish that is also popular in Singapore. The dish consists of marinated shrimp placed on bamboo skewers and grilled to perfection. The marinade usually consists of oil, lemon juice, coriander, garlic, shallot, lemongrass, ginger, cayenne pepper, turmeric, dark sugar, soy sauce, and kecap mani.
Grill the shrimp on both sides until cooked. Sate udang is usually served with scallions, cucumber and pineapple chunks. If desired, coconut milk can also be added to the marinade before cooking.
