Sopa de Caracol (Honduras)

Sopa de caracol is one of the most remarkable dishes of Honduran cuisine, consisting of large pieces of crustacean cooked in coconut milk with the addition of crusty broth, cassava, plantain and spices such as coriander, garlic and pepper. It is common practice to add more vegetables to the dish, such as onions, carrots, or finely chopped tomatoes.

The dish is also popular in the Caribbean, particularly on islands such as the Bahamas and Jamaica.
