Karbanatky (Czech Republic)
Karbanátky is a general term that refers to a large group of traditional Czech and Slovak patties. While they are predominantly made with minced pork, beef or chicken, they can also be made from a variety of vegetables, fish, soy, lentils, oats and even cheese.
Apart from the basic ingredients, they usually include onions, garlic and various spices. Most types are thick, round patties that are breaded and pan-fried until crispy and golden-brown. Both Czechs and Slovaks consume them as a quick and nutritious lunch or dinner.
