Arepa Andreina (Venezuela) - With Wheat Flour
Arepas andina are Venezuelan arepas that differ from regular arepas by using wheat flour instead of standard cornmeal. This variety of arepa is popular in the Andes region near the Colombian border, especially in the state of Mérida, where wheat has been grown since ancient times.
Arepa andina can be consumed plain or filled with vegetables such as cheese and tomatoes. It is recommended to pair a plain arepa andina with a cup of hot coffee.
