Mish-mash (Bulgaria)

Translated as a mix of different things, this traditional Bulgarian dish is prepared with typical summer vegetables such as eggs, tomatoes, and peppers. Other ingredients are sautéed onions, salt, pepper, and Bulgarian feta cheese. There is also a winter version of the dish, which is usually made with frozen roasted peppers. Mish-mash is usually served alongside crusty slices of bread or toast and is eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Although the origin of the dish is not known exactly, it is an integral part of traditional Bulgarian cuisine.
