Seafoods with Anise (Cape Verde Islands)


  • 1,1 lb sea bass fillet
  • 1,1 lb salmon fillet
  • 0,66 lb medium shrimp
  • Half cup of flour
  • 1 onion
  • 6 bell peppers and colored peppers
  • 0,44 lb of mushrooms
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of anise, salt
  • 3 tablespoons of corn oil
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 33,81 oz fish broth

Blanch the shrimp in boiling water for 5 minutes and extract. Chop the cleaned fillet fish into cubes. Lightly flour and sauté in a hot pan. When they start to turn white, add the shrimps and cook for 3 more minutes and transfer to a plate. In the same pan, fry onions, bell peppers cut into large cubes and colored peppers. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook for 3 minutes. In a separate pot, fry 2 tablespoons of flour with 3 tablespoons of corn oil until golden brown. Stirring, add fish broth and boil for 5 minutes. Add seafood and vegetables waiting on the plate. Boil the mixture for another 3 minutes. Serve with the addition of salt and anise.
